Enough excuses though! I'm finally back on a path that includes healthy recipes and exercise!
As you might have guessed from the title my ankle injury has come back for another round of "no, you can't run". Long story short, I saw my favorite orthopaedic doctor and he has ruled out any permanent damage and surgery. I have to rest then rebuild again but it's a much more positive than I originally anticipated. Since the re(ugh)-injury, I have gotten into swimming. I love the challenge and am thinking that once I get comfy on the old Huffy, I just might try a tri. Might. I've also been lifting weights with my amiga, V, even though we've lost some of the strength we built up, it feels so good to be back pumping iron.
I'm typing away making puppy eyes as Jay watches his precious Heat game just hoping he'll make dinner. I typically cook so I am always more than happy when he offers. On tonight's menu is TJ's salmon tacos with roasted cauliflower. If only LeBron would just bring it home already... I'm hungry.
Here are a few other things that have been going on since my last update:
1) I think I injured my ankle during the first ski trip. Will I go back? Yes. Will I have my ankle duct taped before it? Yes. It was so much fun!!
2) Jay celebrated another birthday! Hooray!
Enjoying surprise cake and gifts from my parentals |
3) I took part in Albuquerque's Restaurant Week. It was a tough choice but I ended up checking out Zinc for dinner - duck egg roll, chicken entree and this bit of treasure... croissant bread pudding. A dinner splurge that was worth every bite!
4) I celebrated a birthday (and the BFF did too!)! Hooray again! I had a great family celebration that included dinner...
Bowling...
And tequila shots?!
Yikes... All in all, a great time!!! And I was the worst bowler but may have had the most fun - interesting how that works, huh?
Looks like there is some movement in the kitchen, should be eating dinner soon (I hate eating SO late but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do).
And I hope I'm not the only one that loves those Nerds movies - I bought one on VHS ages ago, like before I really understood most of the jokes, and would watch it constantly.
Have a good weekend!
